Casa Rica

Description from food designer

The production of this gourmet liqueur reuses the “waste” citrus peels from an industrial activity in our pastry production center, where 5.1 tons of lemons are used per year, so that, from now on, in addition to being composted, a part of them are reused as an input for our Liquors.

It should also be noted that a portion of these lemons used in the production centre, specifically 1.9 tons, come from the Casa Rica Farm (local production) and under agroecological practices, providing work for 20 people from its rural surroundings.

Since 2020, Casa Rica has had a Sustainable Development Strategy on the 2030 horizon and which is transversal to the entire organization. It represents our long-term vision and its implementation is carried out through annual action plans in the three pillars that comprise it and which are:

  1. Environment,
  2. Social, and the
  3. Well-being of our collaborators, including an internal environmental education program.

Each pillar, in turn, has sub-axis of work, and within sub-axis 1 in the environmental pillar; Efficient use and management of resources are part of all our Circular Economy actions with measured impact. Our work promoting the tangible and efficient application of the Circular Economy through the reuse and transformation of inputs begins in 2021.
