Introducing Morrow: The Coffee of Tomorrow. Morrow is a coffee alternative that smells, tastes and feels like traditional coffee but is made from sustainable, locally sourced, and upcycled ingredients instead of coffee beans. With a commitment to lower-impact, diverse and up-cycled ingredients, Morrow reduces carbon emissions of conventional coffee by 80% and has no associated deforestation risk. Morrow empowers farmers to diversify crops and adopt sustainable practices, supports food manufacturers in upcycling side streams efficiently, and enables businesses to reduce ingredient costs and comply with regulations like the EU Deforestation Regulation, while consumers benefit from a coffee experience without compromising on taste, price, or sustainability.
Coffee, the world's second most consumed beverage at 3 billion cups daily, faces significant environmental and social challenges in its commodity production. Cultivation often occurs on deforested lands contributing to 7.01% of EU-driven deforestation, and the lack of genetic diversity of cultivated plants and aggressive cultivation methods amplify vulnerability to biodiversity loss, diseases, and climate change. Morrow aims to address these issues and establish a traceable supply chain, offering transparency on ingredient origins to retailers and consumers. We introduce commercial opportunities for farmers through the incorporation of natural nitrogen fixers as break crops, promoting sustainable farming practices. We are thrilled to announce partnerships with the Food Innovation Centre and the International Flavour Research Group at the University of Nottingham, as well as having joined forces with Boortmalt, a global malting company with a 3 million-ton production capacity.
