As with all of our beers, this lager is brewed using the spring water from our family farm just outside of St Davids, West Wales, in the converted Old Farmhouse. This lager is infused with Sugar Kelp seaweed from, Car-y-Mor, Wales’ first community-owned regenerative ocean farm, also off the coast of St Davids Head. A true taste of the St Davids Peninsula collaborating the produce of the sea with that of the land. Cwrw Kelp is crisp and refreshing and can be enjoyed on its own or with a meal - it complements lighter dishes and salty foods, for example lobsters, scallops, barbecue meats, citrus salads (olives & capers), burgers and pizza.
We are Mark and Emma, a husband and wife team, who are passionate about our farming heritage and farming sustainably. In 2020 we took the big decision to diversify our family farm to include a microbrewery, using the resources of the farm, including its well water, to produce award winning beers. Putting nature at the heart of what we do, we power the brewery using renewable energy, and we feed spent grain back to our herd of Pedigree cattle, who in turn provide us with manure to fertilise the land so that we can grow malting barley. A regenerative circle of production from barley to bottle. We currently have a range of 6 beers, a Milk Stout, Traditional Bitter, Pale Ale, New England Pale Ale, a Pilsner Lager and Kelp Lager and in November 2023 we won Pembrokeshire Service / Product Supplier of the Year. We are also blessed to have Great Taste Awards on 3 out of our 6 brews so far - hopefully with more to come this year!
